Dr. Eric Weichel served as both interviewee and expert source for an Ophthalmology Times cover story entitled “Combat eye trauma with care: Treatment of battle-related ocular injury differs from approach to civilian ocular trauma.” Dr. Weichel, who served for 13 years in the U.S. Army, was the Director of Vitreoretinal Surgery at Walter Reed Army Medical Center for five of those years.
